Higher ground welcomes hollinger teachers back

One day before TUSD schools started, Higher Ground welcomed Hollinger K-8 teachers and staff by providing them lunch and doing some fun activities with them. You can buy any of the products we have here on our website. You then pick it up during your convenient time here at Higher Ground at Wakefield Middle School, 101 W 44th St. Tucson AZ 85713. Not only do you get quality products at a low price, you end up supporting an organization that are transforming lives! All proceeds go directly to youth program cost.

Aspen institute blog

Our Executive Director and Founder Jansen Azarias was featured in a Blog by the Aspen Institute for the work that is happening in Tucson regarding Opportunity Youth. Click here to read the interview. In February, Higher Ground, along with United Way and Pima County Juvenile Court will have an opportunity to host a webinar for 20 other cities to train them regarding trauma informed care for our youth. Two times this year, Higher Ground has been able to bring positive attention to Tucson, one through an article with the Department of Education, and now with the Aspen Institute.

3RD annual kid's christmas party - December 19

A collaborative work of Gospel Rescue Mission, Higher Ground, The Well Worship Center and many more organizations to give gifts to our children in need for Christmas!

Over 1,200 families received toys for Christmas last December 2Oth at Wakefield through the partnership of Gospel Rescue Mission, Higher Ground, and The Well Worship Center during the 2nd Annual Christmas Kid's Party. Over 4,000 toys, 900 shoes, and 4000 hotdogs were given to the children of the neighborhood in the 3 hour event. The community saw 15 non-profit agencies, 180+ volunteers, and several businesses work together to give them an opportunity to celebrate a joyful Christmas. Several families expressed the sentiment that this was the only presents their children will receive due to the hard times they are facing. Click here to see some pictures of the event.
